  • Disaster Prevention and Safety Monitoring System for High-Speed Railway
High-speed train runs at speeds of 300-350 kilometers per hour and in order to ensure the safety of passengers, building a disaster prevention system is essential to reduce potential accidents.
  • China Railway High-speed Maintenance System
One of the best indicators of China's rapid economic growth should be transportation construction, especially concerning high speed rail projects. China is not only to adopt foreign systems but also invests a lot of efforts in trying to develop their own systems. In 2007, with many years of experiences of railway rolling stock maintenance and repair, Beijing Railway Institute built its maintenance system for China Railway High-speed (CRH) including CRH Electric Multiple Unit Safety Monitoring System and the rail power system testing which is called the CJK-I Type Rigidly Movable Contact Net. Both of the systems are developed for the maintenance and repair tasks of trains and already have installed in many branch plants of Beijing Railway Institute.
  • Building a Robust and Reliable Highway ETC System via Advantech's Solution
In recent years, highway toll systems have become more complex. Toll collection systems need to be able to collect monies from a range of sources i.e. cash and credit cards. But these require toll booths and therefore slow the flow of traffic. To alleviate these issues and keep the traffic moving a recent addition to the collection system is to build a highway with no toll booths. Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) systems use gantries over the highway, with monitoring equipment, in the form of transponders, to gather information from cars and lorries passing beneath them.
  • Subway Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) System
In an attempt to improve efficiency, an increasing number of high capacity railways are installing Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems which ensure that every passenger has a valid ticket when they enter the railway and that they pay the correct fare for the journey taken. Meanwhile, AFC systems also automate the ticket accounting and selling processes as well as providing detailed information on system usage to cut down on ever increasing fraud by passengers and staff.
  • Display Panel for Subway Trains
China CNR Corporation Limited is not only a major provider of railway vehicles in China’s domestic market, but also one of the world’s largest exporters: selling rolling stock and equipment to over 50 countries. Computers used to control moving trains need to meet the most rigorous safety and reliability requirements, and currently there are only a few players in this field.
  • Parking Lot Monitoring System at Japan Highway Service Area
Rest areas experience heavy traffic all year long as travelers stop to stretch their legs and visit rest rooms. In Japan, rest areas are called service areas and feature parking lot, restaurant, convenience stores, gas station, and road information center in addition to the standard amenities. One of Advantech’s customers in Japan was looking to build a high-tech monitoring system at parking lot of new service area in order to measure traffic flow and provide improved security.
  • Surveillance and Monitoring System over Power Substations in Beijing Subway
Over the last 10 years, the rapid expansion of Beijing’s underground system has helped to modernize the city. However, the sprouting metro lines would be paralyzed if the supply of electrical power was not stable.
  • Wayside Control for High-Speed Railway Systems
China has the world’s longest high-speed rail network with top speeds reaching 350 km/h. High-speed trains in China have transported 600 million passengers since their introduction on April 18, 2007. A High Speed Railway operator in China built a 308 km fiber optic network along 22 stations. To control the trains from wayside control cabinets, they included different types of controllers to ensure reliable, non-stop operation. Advantech's EKI managed switches played an integral part in the communication capabilities of this system.
  • Bus Stop Security Communication System
As most people are aware, bus stops are not always the safest places to be waiting at night. They are sometimes located in dark areas that aren’t centrally located without a lot of pedestrian traffic nearby, which means they can frequently be prime locations for criminals to take advantage of commuters. But as many mass transit systems are being modernized, added security measures can easily be included to ensure improved safety and security.
